Queen Camilla ‘Not Ready to Forgive’ Prince Harry Despite King Charles’ Push for Reconciliation

Camilla said to back Prince William in opposing Harry’s royal return

Queen Camilla is reportedly at odds with her husband, King Charles, over his desire to welcome Prince Harry back into the royal fold, with sources claiming she quietly supports Prince William’s firmer stance on the issue.

While Charles is said to be keen to mend fences with his younger son as time becomes more precious, Camilla is reportedly unwilling to overlook Harry’s past remarks about her. According to insiders, she views his comments as “extremely unkind” and has no intention of forgiving him easily.

The Queen notably did not attend the private meeting between Charles and Harry at Clarence House last week, which has fuelled speculation about the depth of her feelings. The father and son shared tea for just under an hour during Harry’s brief UK visit, and their meeting sparked hopes of a possible reconciliation.

But royal sources told The Sunday Times that Camilla remains deeply hurt. “He has been extremely unkind to her in print and in word, and she doesn’t forgive easily. The royal family make elephants look like they have short memories,” one insider said.

Harry has made several public criticisms of senior royals since stepping back from royal duties, especially in his 2023 memoir Spare and during a 60 Minutes interview promoting it. He described Camilla as “the villain” and “the third person” in the marriage of his late mother Princess Diana and the King, and likened meeting her to getting an “injection,” writing: “Close your eyes and you won’t even feel it.”

These past remarks appear to have left scars that Camilla has not forgotten, casting doubt on any attempt to bring Harry back into the royal fold.
