Royal Insiders Say She Won’t Miss Key Event Despite Health Concerns
Queen Camilla has made her stance clear following her sudden absence from the Duchess of Kent’s funeral. Buckingham Palace confirmed on September 16 that the Queen, 78, was suffering from acute sinusitis, which forced her to miss the solemn ceremony at Westminster Cathedral.
Her absence quickly sparked speculation online about whether she would also skip high-profile events surrounding Donald Trump’s state visit to the UK. Some social media users even suggested Camilla might avoid appearances out of solidarity with victims of Jeffrey Epstein, given Trump’s past ties to the disgraced financier.
However, those close to the Queen have dismissed such rumours. A friend told The Daily Beast: “There is no way she would shirk her duty. She knows how important this is to the government and her husband. Her job is supporting him.”
Royal watchers have also pointed to another layer of tension. Camilla has reportedly not forgiven Harry for his outspoken criticism of her, despite the Duke of Sussex’s recent reunion with King Charles. According to The Times, she still feels hurt by Harry’s “unkind” remarks made in public and in print.
Even so, insiders say the Queen Consort will stand firmly by her husband during Trump’s visit, underscoring her role as both his partner and a key figure in Britain’s state pageantry.
