King Charles Issues First Statement After Windsor Castle Incident

Palace Shares Update as Trump’s UK Visit Sparks Protest

Buckingham Palace has released King Charles’ first official statement following a dramatic incident at Windsor Castle during Donald Trump’s arrival in the UK.

On September 17, the Palace shared a social media post reflecting on more than a century of American presidents visiting the United Kingdom. The King’s spokesperson confirmed, “President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will arrive in Windsor later today to begin their State Visit.”

The statement went on to note: “For more than a century, successive monarchs have welcomed American presidents to the United Kingdom, celebrating the special bonds between the UK and the USA, and offering a warm British welcome full of tradition and pageantry.”

The post also highlighted the history of presidential visits, from Woodrow Wilson’s first official trip to the UK to later engagements involving John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, Barack Obama, and Trump himself.

Trump, who has often spoken fondly of the royals, praised Queen Elizabeth II during his 2019 state visit. “Melania and I will always cherish our time together with the Queen, and never forget Her Majesty’s generous friendship, great wisdom, and wonderful sense of humour. What a grand and beautiful lady she was—there was nobody like her!” he said at the time.

The King’s new statement came shortly after protesters projected images of Jeffrey Epstein, Donald Trump, and Prince Andrew onto Windsor Castle’s walls, adding to the controversy surrounding the former president’s arrival.
