Duchess of York honours the late monarch on the third anniversary of her passing
Sarah Ferguson has paid a touching tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II as the nation marked three years since her death.
On September 8, Buckingham Palace released a striking portrait of the Queen alongside the message, “Remembering Queen Elizabeth II, 1926–2022.” Soon after, Sarah—affectionately known as Fergie—shared her own emotional message on Instagram.
“Today marks three years since the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II,” she wrote. “Her Majesty will be forever loved, always missed, and never forgotten. Not a day goes by when I don’t think of the kindness I was unstintingly shown in good times and bad.”
She added that caring for the Queen’s beloved corgis, Muick and Sandy, has been “an honour and a daily reminder of the times we shared together.”
The Duchess of York remained close to the Queen even after her divorce from Prince Andrew and took on the care of the late monarch’s dogs after her passing in 2022.
Her tribute came as the Queen’s grandson Prince Harry arrived in the United Kingdom for a four-day visit filled with official engagements. He honoured his grandmother by visiting her grave at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
