Archie and Lilibet’s Royal Titles ‘Protected’ After Help from Two Key Royals

Harry and Meghan reportedly relied on advice from Beatrice and Eugenie before deciding to keep their children’s royal titles.

Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly made a thoughtful decision regarding their children’s royal titles after private discussions with two senior royals.

When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back from their senior royal duties in 2020, they lost the right to use their HRH titles but retained their Duke and Duchess of Sussex honours. These, however, cannot be used for commercial purposes.

As for their children, Archie and Lilibet, the couple initially appeared to have kept their HRH titles to allow the children to decide for themselves when they’re older. But according to royal commentator Neil Sean, that wasn’t the full story.

Speaking to OK! magazine, Sean claimed, “Harry and Meghan are very, very keen to cling onto those royal titles.” He added that Meghan, after much reflection, decided keeping the titles would benefit both her and their children.

Sean suggested the couple’s close bond with Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie played a key role in shaping their decision. “Meghan became very friendly with senior members of the monarchy, predominantly Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice,” he said. “After that, Meghan realised how useful a title can be, especially when you want to move in the right circles. That’s why they’re eager to hold onto them.”

The move, according to insiders, is seen as a way of protecting Archie and Lilibet’s future status while still allowing them the freedom to choose their own paths later in life.
