King Charles Honours Royal Legacy After Meeting with Prince William

Monarch focuses on key duties despite renewed scrutiny over family scandals

King Charles returned to London from Balmoral this week and quickly resumed his royal duties, setting aside the latest controversies surrounding Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. His return included a private meeting with Prince William, signalling ongoing discussions about the family’s next steps.

The royal household had been under renewed pressure following the resurfacing of an email linking Sarah Ferguson to Jeffrey Epstein, which once again brought Andrew’s past scandals back into public view. Despite the turbulence, Charles appeared determined to focus on his role as monarch.

On Monday, he made a special visit to the Garrison Chapel, where he attended an exhibition supported by The King’s Foundation. The event honoured Queen Marie of Romania, whose artistic work is being celebrated in a new exhibition curated by the Romanian Cultural Institute.

The showcase, titled Marie of Romania, Artist Queen, features rare lithographs and paintings never before seen by the public. According to the Palace, Charles was “fascinated” by the collection, which also includes the Transylvania Florilegium, a series of botanical works he originally commissioned as Prince of Wales between 2012 and 2016.

The King’s Foundation highlighted that the project reflects Charles’s deep ties to Romania, noting his long-standing interest in the country’s culture, landscapes, and biodiversity. The exhibition is free to the public until October 12.
