Monarch fears more damaging leaks about Duke and Duchess of York
King Charles is said to be deeply troubled by the latest revelations involving Sarah Ferguson and her past ties to Jeffrey Epstein. After welcoming the Duchess of York back into the royal fold with warmth and compassion during her cancer battle, the King is reportedly shaken by the resurfaced emails in which she referred to the convicted sex offender as her “supreme friend.”
Royal expert Jennie Bond told The Mirror that the monarch, who is undergoing cancer treatment himself, may feel utterly defeated by the situation. “I can just imagine him with his head in his hands saying to himself: ‘I’ve done all I can, but this really is too much,’” she said.
The scandal has reignited calls to exclude both the Duke and Duchess of York from royal events. According to Bond, William has long resisted including them at family gatherings and is now expected to be “extremely reluctant” to share even private occasions with them.
Adding to the tension, there are warnings that more embarrassing leaks concerning Andrew and Fergie’s connection to Epstein could surface, further threatening the monarchy’s image.
While reports suggest Fergie may even consider leaving the UK as the backlash grows, her spokesperson has said she “deeply regrets” the email and its wording. The controversy has already led several charities to cut ties, leaving her daughters Beatrice and Eugenie facing mounting humiliation.
