Friends say 2025 could be a brighter year as his resolve wins public support
After a challenging 2024 following his cancer diagnosis, King Charles is said to be in noticeably better spirits thanks to positive news on his health.
Buckingham Palace confirmed in February last year that the King was receiving treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer. Even so, he has kept up his duties, balancing medical care with a steady public schedule.
A close friend told The Telegraph that 2025 could prove a positive year for William and Harry’s father, noting how strongly people have responded to his determination. “He is a man who is never satisfied with what he feels he can and should achieve,” the friend said, adding that the King has felt “greater personal happiness” in recent months as well-wishers tell him he is doing “an amazing job.”
Royal writer Valentine Low also praised the King’s sense of duty, saying there is hardly a national or international issue he does not feel responsible for helping to resolve.
For now the mood around the monarch is hopeful. Treatment continues, the diary remains active, and the support he has felt from the public appears to be lifting him.
