Despite the controversies surrounding Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, the monarch continues to support Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
King Charles has reportedly made a meaningful gesture toward his nieces, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, as speculation grows about their place in the royal family.
In recent months, discussions have surfaced suggesting that the York sisters’ royal roles could be affected by the continued scrutiny of their parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. The Duke and Duchess of York have faced renewed criticism following the resurfacing of details about their past association with a convicted sex offender.
Public calls have grown louder for the Yorks to be excluded from official royal engagements. However, according to former royal butler Grant Harrold, King Charles has no intention of distancing himself from his nieces.
Speaking to the Express, Harrold reflected on his time working with the royal family and spoke warmly about Beatrice and Eugenie. “They were always very sweet and gentle,” he said. “They’d always say their ‘please’ and ‘thank yous’ and were very polite. They’re genuinely lovely young women and much-loved members of the Royal Family.”
Harrold added that King Charles’s affection for the sisters remains unchanged despite the controversy surrounding their parents. “The King is very fond of his nieces and gets on with both of them really well,” he explained. “He’ll always encourage them to attend family events and make sure they’re included in private celebrations.”
While the monarch faces constant pressure to manage public opinion, his continued inclusion of Beatrice and Eugenie suggests that family loyalty still plays a key role in his decisions — even when it means making difficult compromises.
