The Duchess of Sussex shares a heartfelt message following her designer friend’s unexpected revelation about her Paris appearance.
Meghan Markle seemed completely at ease after her friend and designer Pierpaolo Piccioli accidentally revealed a behind-the-scenes detail from her recent appearance at Paris Fashion Week.
After a whirlwind few days in New York City with her husband, the Duke of Sussex, Meghan returned to Montecito to reunite with their children, Archie and Lilibet. During their New York visit, the couple accepted an award, met with friends, and attended several business events.
Once home, Meghan shared a short video on Monday through her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard. Set to Dinah Washington’s “If I Were a Bell,” the clip opened with a view from an airplane window and shifted to cosy moments of Meghan getting ready for events, with Harry appearing briefly in pyjamas.
“Until the next time, NYC — thanks for the memories!” she wrote in the caption. “You really know how to charm a gal.”
Her post came shortly after Pierpaolo, Balenciaga’s new Creative Director and a longtime friend, revealed that Meghan had personally reached out to attend the Paris show — her first-ever fashion week appearance.
He told The Cut that there was “no big plan or strategy” behind her attendance, explaining that they wanted to keep it “a surprise.” His comments sparked discussion online, as many had assumed Meghan was invited by the brand.
Despite the unexpected reveal, Pierpaolo’s words were warm and full of admiration, calling Meghan a “special guest” and praising her genuine interest in fashion — a sentiment the Duchess seems to have embraced with grace and humour.
