Prince Harry Admits to Feeling ‘Enormous Guilt’ After Security Breach in the UK

Duke of Sussex faces major safety scare as stalker gets dangerously close during London visit

Prince Harry reportedly felt a deep sense of “enormous guilt” after a serious security breach during his visit to the United Kingdom last month, when a stalker managed to approach him within just a few feet.

The Duke of Sussex, who has long argued that his security in Britain is insufficient given past threats, was travelling without police protection throughout his four-day trip. According to The Telegraph, the situation left him shaken after two separate incidents involving a woman previously listed as a suspicious individual.

One encounter occurred at the hotel hosting the WellChild Awards, while the other happened later that day near the Centre for Blast Injury Studies in west London — the same day Harry briefly met with King Charles.

A friend of the Duke told the publication that Harry was distressed not only for his own safety but also for the wellbeing of others present. “It should not be left to two office staff to act as extra eyes and ears or provide a physical barrier,” the friend said. “That should not happen. It is only going to take one motivated, lone individual for this to go south very quickly.”

Harry has often said that incidents like this are the reason his visits to his home country are so rare. He previously lost his legal appeal against the UK Home Office, which ruled that he would only receive “bespoke” security on a case-by-case basis despite his citing serious death threats.

During this latest visit, no police officers were assigned to his events. Scotland Yard declined to comment, stating that it does not discuss security matters.
