Prince William and Catherine Invited to Australia After Palace Announcement

Kensington Palace remains silent on potential travel plans

Prince William and Catherine have received a warm invitation to visit Australia, following a significant announcement from Buckingham Palace.

The invitation came after Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese met King Charles at Balmoral. The royal family later released a photo from the meeting, which Mr Albanese described as “wonderful.” Speaking to the press, he confirmed that there is a “standing invitation” for the Prince and Princess of Wales to visit the country.

“I’m certainly hoping there will be one,” he said, adding that the royal family “are always welcome in Australia.” He also reflected on King Charles and Queen Camilla’s previous trip, praising it as “very successful” and noting the King’s continued engagement with the nation. The Prime Minister expressed hope that the future King and Queen would make the journey soon, although no arrangements have been confirmed.

Kensington Palace has not commented on the possibility of William and Catherine travelling to Australia. The invitation comes shortly after Buckingham Palace confirmed King Charles and Queen Camilla’s State Visit to the Holy See later this month. The couple will join Pope Leo XIV in celebrating the Jubilee Year during their upcoming trip.
