Kensington Palace issues a heartfelt update as the couple urges people to seek support and connection
Prince William and Catherine have made an emotional appeal to encourage people to reach out for help during difficult times, highlighting the growing mental health challenges faced globally.
On October 10, the couple marked World Mental Health Day by resharing a post from Chasing Stigma on their official Instagram account. The charity focuses on “normalising and humanising conversations” around mental health, a mission that deeply resonates with the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Their message read, “For help and support, please visit the Hub of Hope,” directing followers to a resource that connects individuals with local mental health services.
Catherine, during her recent visit to Oxford, addressed the dangers of excessive phone use among young people, warning that it can lead to isolation and emotional distress. In her 1,500-word essay, The Power of Human Connection in a Distracted World, written with Harvard psychiatrist Robert Waldinger, she emphasised the need to rebuild genuine social bonds in an age dominated by screens.
As the head of the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, Catherine also urged parents to be mindful of how technology can distract families from meaningful interaction.
Meanwhile, Prince William recently met with Rhian Manning, whose husband took his life following the tragic loss of their child. During their conversation, William stressed the importance of open dialogue, reminding people that talking remains one of the most powerful ways to prevent suicide.
Together, the royal couple continues to use their platform to shed light on the urgent need for compassion, connection, and support in tackling the global mental health crisis.
