The future King and Queen show compassion for the York sisters as they navigate fallout from their parents’ scandals
Despite growing frustration over Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s ongoing controversies, Prince William and Catherine have made a deliberate effort to show kindness to their cousins, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
According to a source quoted by Closer magazine, the Prince of Wales was considering taking a tougher stance against Andrew and Fergie after their actions brought further embarrassment to the royal family. Still, he reportedly feels sympathy for the York sisters, who have long endured the consequences of their parents’ missteps despite having no part in them.
The insider explained that Catherine recently received a heartfelt request from Beatrice and Eugenie, asking for understanding over their difficult position. She has since encouraged her husband to handle the matter with compassion.
“It’s no secret that William and Kate have to tread carefully when it comes to Prince Andrew,” the source said. “That hasn’t always been easy for Beatrice and Eugenie, who remain loyal daughters. But even with those differences, William and Kate have managed to keep their personal connection intact.”
Behind the scenes, however, William’s patience with his uncle and aunt appears to be running out. Andrew’s reputation remains damaged by his ties to financier Jeffrey Epstein and the settlement with Virginia Giuffre, while Fergie’s image suffered another blow when old emails surfaced showing her praising Epstein as a “steadfast, generous and supreme friend.”
Despite these ongoing issues, the Prince and Princess of Wales continue to extend quiet support to the York sisters — a gesture that highlights their sense of fairness and empathy within a family often tested by scandal.
