The future king is reportedly frustrated with his father’s leniency toward Prince Andrew and plans to take decisive action once he ascends the throne.
Prince William is said to be increasingly frustrated with King Charles’ handling of Prince Andrew’s situation, particularly over his continued use of the Duke of York title despite stepping back from royal duties.
According to The Daily Mail, the Prince of Wales is “deeply unhappy” with what he considers a poorly handled agreement that allowed Andrew to retain his title. Sources suggest William intends to act quickly once he becomes king, with plans to formally remove Andrew from the Royal Family.
Royal author Tom Sykes explained, “He wants him out and he’s likely to do this as soon as he can. Almost immediately after becoming King, William is expected to strip Andrew of his remaining royal privileges.”
Although Andrew stopped using his title in public, it was never officially revoked—a detail William reportedly wants to correct. The move could signal a significant shake-up in the royal structure once William takes the throne.
The Prince of Wales is also said to be considering whether he can legally evict Andrew from Royal Lodge, his Windsor residence located not far from William and Catherine’s new home, Forest Lodge.
Sykes added that William’s plans extend beyond Andrew: “As King, William could also review other royal titles. He’s looking closely at the entire family and how it might be streamlined. While nothing has been decided beyond Andrew’s situation, it’s clear that changes are coming.”
