Prince Andrew reportedly suspects that King Charles intends to give Royal Lodge to Queen Camilla, should she outlive him. The dispute adds another layer of strain to the already tense relationship between the brothers.
Andrew, who signed a 75-year lease on the Windsor estate in 2003, continues to resist pressure to vacate the property. The 30-room mansion has been his home for decades, which he still shares with his former wife, Sarah Ferguson.
The controversy surrounding Andrew shows no sign of fading. His ties to Jeffrey Epstein and the release of Virginia Giuffre’s memoirs have renewed scrutiny and public criticism. Despite this, Andrew insists on his innocence and maintains that he has done nothing wrong.
King Charles has reportedly made multiple attempts to persuade Andrew to relocate, but the Duke has refused. Friends close to Andrew told The Telegraph that he believes the King’s true motivation is to make Royal Lodge available for Queen Camilla as a future Windsor residence.
Buckingham Palace has denied the claim, stating there is no such plan involving the Queen.
Royal Lodge has long been part of the family’s history. The late Queen Mother lived there after the death of King George VI, before Andrew took up residence.
While Queen Camilla already has several homes available, including her private Ray Mill House in Wiltshire, the suggestion that she could inherit another royal property has stirred debate among royal watchers.
The latest revelations also follow reports that the details of Andrew’s “peppercorn rent” on the Crown Estate property were redacted in legal filings more than 20 years ago, adding further mystery to the Duke’s long-standing arrangement.
