Sources reveal that the Wales family is ready to embrace the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s children during future UK visits.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly received positive news about how warmly their children, Archie and Lilibet, would be received by the Palace. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who stepped down as senior working royals in 2020, are said to be eager for their children to understand their royal heritage.
In a recent interview with The Guardian, Harry hinted at more visits to the United Kingdom in the future, sparking speculation that Archie and Lilibet may soon be introduced to royal life firsthand. This raised the question of whether senior royals, including Prince William and Catherine, would be open to welcoming them.
According to an insider, the Waleses would “happily” open their doors to the Sussex children. Former royal butler Grant Harrold also spoke to Express.co.uk about the potential relationship between the two families, particularly if Archie and Lilibet choose to study in the UK.
“The one thing about William and Catherine is that they won’t treat Meghan and Harry’s children any differently because of what their parents are going through,” Harrold explained. “So, if Archie and Lilibet want to come here for university or to live, they would probably be embraced just the same.”
Catherine has also shown grace in the past when asked about the Sussexes’ daughter. Shortly after Princess Lilibet’s birth in June 2021, following renewed controversy around Meghan and Harry’s comments about the royal family, a reporter asked the then-Duchess of Cambridge for her reaction. Catherine smiled and replied calmly, “Oh, I wish her all the very best. I can’t wait to meet her because we haven’t met her yet. Hopefully, that’ll be soon.”
