Prince William has spoken openly about his hopes to bring meaningful change to the monarchy once he eventually takes the throne. The Prince of Wales made the remarks during his conversation with actor Eugene Levy on Apple TV+’s The Reluctant Traveler, offering a rare glimpse into his personal outlook on the future of the royal institution.
When asked by the host if he often reflects on his destiny as the future King of England, William admitted, “I don’t think about it every single morning.” He explained that what truly motivates him is “being authentic, being myself, and being genuine,” adding that he takes every role and responsibility within the Royal Family seriously.
The heir to the throne went on to outline his approach to the future of the monarchy, saying, “I think it’s safe to say that change is on my agenda — change for good. I embrace that and I enjoy that change; I don’t fear it.”
William stressed that he is not seeking to overhaul royal traditions entirely, but rather to make necessary and thoughtful adjustments. “Not overly radical change,” he clarified, “but changes that I think need to happen.”
His comments come amid ongoing reports that Palace officials have been preparing the Prince for greater responsibilities, especially as King Charles continues treatment for cancer.
