King Charles delivers a final blow to the Duke and Duchess of York’s royal standing
The royal family has reportedly decided to permanently distance itself from Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson following a series of scandals that have long shadowed the Duke and Duchess of York. According to royal insiders, King Charles has made it clear that the pair will no longer attend royal events, including the traditional Christmas celebrations at Sandringham.
The move comes after a recent email leak reignited public anger towards the former couple. The leak revealed Sarah Ferguson addressing convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein as her “supreme friend,” despite previously claiming to have severed ties with him. Her spokesperson later explained that she regretted sending the message and only did so under pressure and threats. However, the apology did little to repair the damage—several charities have since withdrawn their support for her.
Meanwhile, Andrew’s association with Epstein and his alleged involvement in last year’s Chinese spy scandal have further tarnished his image and strained his relationship with both the public and the royal family.
Royal expert Jennie Bond told The Mirror that it would be “inconceivable” for the couple to appear publicly with the royal family at Sandringham. Even if they were to attend privately, Bond warned that it could lead to accusations of hypocrisy against King Charles, who has been firm about upholding the monarchy’s integrity.
Bond acknowledged that the King is a “family man” who values close ties, but said the latest revelations make it impossible for Sarah to remain within the royal fold. She noted that the couple spent last Christmas away from the family after Andrew’s spy scandal surfaced, suggesting that this year marks a more definitive break.
“It seems the time has come for a permanent end to their Christmas celebrations with the royal family,” Bond added, underscoring what many now see as the final chapter in Andrew and Sarah’s royal connection.
