Fergie remains supportive of Prince Andrew despite his decision to drop his royal title
Sarah Ferguson has reportedly accepted the loss of her Duchess of York title with grace after her former husband, Prince Andrew, decided to stop using his own title, the Duke of York.
According to Hello! Magazine, the move has slightly altered Fergie’s public standing, but those close to her say she isn’t troubled by it. “She will always support her former husband’s decisions and do anything for the King,” a source shared. “For her this will not make a big difference.”
Andrew announced on Friday that he is stepping back further from public life, explaining that the accusations against him have become a distraction from King Charles and the rest of the royal family. With the King’s approval, he stated, “I will therefore no longer use my title or the honours which have been conferred upon me. As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me.”
Despite the changes, Andrew will reportedly continue living at Royal Lodge, the 30-room residence he shares with Ferguson.
Fergie, who has not posted on social media for more than a month, has yet to make an official comment. Her silence follows controversy over a leaked email to Jeffrey Epstein in which she called him a “supreme friend.” For now, it seems the former Duchess is choosing to stay quiet and composed amid the ongoing scrutiny.
