Duchess delivers firm message as talk of a royal return resurfaces
Meghan Markle has made her position clear as speculation grows over the state of her marriage and the idea that Harry might return to the UK. After the Duke of Sussex reconnected with his father in September following nearly two years of distance, some wondered whether a path back to royal life was opening up.
Since stepping back in 2020, the couple have faced repeated claims about a split and talk of a “professional separation.” There were even suggestions that Harry would only be welcomed back if he left Meghan behind. Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar, the Duchess dismissed the rumours, saying Harry has stood by her throughout everything and would never walk away.
“He loves me so boldly and fully. He has a different perspective because he sees media that I wouldn’t,” she said in the magazine’s winter edition. She added that no one supports her more than Harry, especially through the pressure that comes with fame.
A relationship built on support
Meghan spoke warmly about how their bond began in 2016, their engagement a year later and their 2018 wedding at St George’s Chapel. She said Harry’s “childlike wonder and playfulness” drew her in and still shapes their life today. Whatever projects they pursue, she said their relationship remains central. Even in work, she wants them to “play and have fun and explore and be creative.”
The couple, who share two children, continue to live in Montecito while Meghan builds her lifestyle brand As Ever and Harry focuses on his charitable work and patronages.
Could Harry be welcomed back into the royal fold?
Reports suggest King Charles and William have discussed Harry’s future, especially after the removal of Prince Andrew from public roles. While the King is said to have a soft spot for his younger son, experts believe William remains deeply frustrated with his brother. Any decision that risks tension with the heir is unlikely.
Claims that Harry could return only without Meghan remain unverified, and no official source has confirmed such conditions. For now, the Duchess’s message leaves little room for doubt: Harry is staying by her side.
