King Charles’s move on Andrew creates unwanted fallout for Beatrice’s family
As Andrew Mountbatten Windsor prepares to leave Royal Lodge after his public fall from grace, the mood is very different from this time last year. He had been celebrating a rare victory over King Charles, but the situation has now shifted in a way that touches Princess Beatrice’s household.
New reports suggest that her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, has lost a significant business opportunity tied to the 30-room Windsor estate. Edo, who turned 42 this week, is the founder of Banda Property, a company known for development and interior design work. He had been advising on plans to modernise the historic residence following concerns about the deteriorating state of the seventeenth-century building.
In November last year, he was seen visiting Royal Lodge several times. According to DailyMail sources, Andrew had asked his son-in-law for help after issues such as cracks and mould were spotted on the exterior. There were also worries about valuable artefacts inside the mansion. One royal insider said the scale of the renovation was extensive and would require significant funds, which posed a problem after Charles had recently cut Andrew off financially.
Those plans now appear to have stalled. The King announced last month that Andrew will no longer use the title ‘Prince’ and that an eviction from Royal Lodge is under way. With the future of the property in question, the project Edo was advising on has effectively collapsed, taking a potential financial boost with it.
Andrew’s downfall continues to stem from his association with Jeffrey Epstein and ongoing questions surrounding his conduct and financial affairs.
