According to the source, Catherine views the upcoming trip to America as a rare chance to reset. The visit is meant to highlight the partnership between the United Kingdom and the United States, which she feels aligns well with her hope for goodwill within the family too.
The couple are also expected to take some time away after official duties. Catherine is said to believe that a change of scenery might put William in a more forgiving frame of mind.
The source added that the nature of the trip makes it feel like the right moment for a potential thaw with Harry and Meghan Markle. Even so, Catherine understands that past remarks cannot simply be undone. She is described as someone who prefers to look ahead rather than dwell on old wounds.
