Spokesperson confirms private contact supported by trusted intermediaries
Meghan Markle has reached out to Thomas Markle after his recent plea to rebuild their relationship. The update comes after he underwent surgery to amputate his left leg, which prompted renewed efforts to open communication.
According to GB News, Meghan’s spokesperson said her message was delivered “with the support of reliable and trusted contacts,” adding that her correspondence is now in his hands. The spokesperson also criticised a British newspaper reporter who has been at Thomas’s bedside, saying the constant presence and coverage made it hard for Meghan to contact her father privately, despite trying for several days.
A source close to Meghan told the People’s Channel that some progress has been made between the two following Thomas’s medical emergency. The spokesperson earlier confirmed that she has indeed reached out.
Thomas, who became emotional while speaking to the Daily Mail, said he hopes to meet his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet and does not want to spend the rest of his life estranged from his daughter. He shared that he has always been open to reconciliation and still hopes for a chance to meet Harry as well.
Thomas said he wants to speak to Meghan but is unsure whether now is the right moment, given the difficult circumstances.
