Insiders say he fears she may distance herself as Royal Lodge exit looms
Andrew is said to be hoping for a renewed romantic connection with Sarah Ferguson as they prepare to leave Royal Lodge, the home they have shared for years. King Charles has issued a formal notice for him to move out, adding fresh strain to an already difficult period.
There were earlier claims that the two were preparing to go their separate ways following the eviction order and the loss of Andrew’s titles. However, Closer reports that he is now eager to strengthen his relationship with Sarah to ensure she stays supportive. According to royal insiders, he is worried she might distance herself or even “throw him under the bus” if left to navigate the situation alone.
The insiders also say Andrew understands that his romantic options have narrowed due to the long-running scandals surrounding him. One source claimed he believes that “being together again” could help them both face the challenges ahead.
Sarah and Andrew were married for a decade before their split in 1996, but they have remained close. The insider added that he still finds her attractive, feels most at ease around her, and knows he is unlikely to find many new prospects given his current public standing.
He has reportedly told her that they work better as a team and that rebuilding what they once had could be the best path forward.
Meanwhile, there are reports that their daughters are deeply concerned. A royal source says their daughters are “really worried” as Andrew’s anxiety has risen sharply in recent weeks.
