Royal insiders say the Duchess has no intention of returning to the UK
Meghan Markle has reportedly made her position clear. Her future, and that of her children, is firmly in the United States, well away from royal tensions in Britain.
According to royal commentator Rob Shuter, writing on his Substack titled Meghan Markle Has No Plans To Return To The UK, the Duchess has no interest in moving back across the Atlantic, even as discussions around security arrangements resurface.
Shuter’s comments came after Harry received encouraging news from the UK linked to his ongoing security review. However, insiders insist that any potential changes would not alter Meghan’s stance.
One source told Shuter that Meghan has “zero intention of hopping back across the pond,” adding that talk of taxpayer funded security or royal formality no longer carries any weight for her. Another insider was even more direct, saying Meghan and Harry are finished with royal life and that their children will remain in the US, full stop.
Sources also dismissed speculation that improved protection could tempt Meghan into reconsidering. As one insider put it, she is focused on family life, privacy, and raising her children away from public scrutiny.
Shuter added that while Harry continues to push for security cover during UK visits, Meghan is said to be unmoved. Without that issue on the table, the answer remains the same: she is not interested in returning.
Even those close to Meghan’s professional circle reportedly acknowledge the reality. She is building her life and business interests in America, not keeping one foot in Britain.
A palace source summed it up bluntly, saying Meghan has stopped entertaining the idea of going back and is fully committed to her own life overseas.
