Claims suggest differing views on whether the Duke of Sussex should be welcomed back into the royal family
Queen Camilla’s relationship with Catherine is said to have become tense, with reports pointing to a growing disagreement over Harry and his possible return to the royal fold.
According to OK! Magazine, the Queen Consort is unhappy with Catherine’s continued support for reconciliation, particularly after Harry’s public criticism of the royal family since Megxit. While Harry reportedly met King Charles for tea in September, Camilla is still firmly opposed to any wider family reunion.
A source told the publication that Camilla questions Catherine’s judgement and does not believe Harry should be welcomed back into royal circles so easily. The insider claimed Catherine has been encouraging her husband William to repair his relationship with his brother, saying her own health struggles over the past year have reinforced the importance of family.
However, Camilla is said to see this approach as problematic. The source explained that while Catherine believes the family should try to heal old wounds, Camilla feels this undermines a stricter stance she supports, one that leaves little room for forgiveness at this stage.
The report also suggests Camilla is frustrated that Catherine continues to advocate for Harry despite his past remarks about the family. She reportedly feels the situation has gone on for too long and has warned that Catherine’s approach may be overly idealistic and risky.
It is further claimed that Camilla believes any reconciliation should happen only on Harry’s terms, without pressure from within the family. While Catherine’s intentions are described as well-meaning, they are seen by some as adding further complications.
Camilla is also said to remain deeply upset over how she was portrayed in Harry’s memoir Spare, where he referred to her as a “wicked stepmother”, a comment that continues to colour her view of any potential reconciliation.
