Royal commentator plays down claims the former Duchess of York is planning a tell-all
Sarah Ferguson would not do anything that could disappoint King Charles or damage the royal family, according to a royal expert, amid fresh speculation about a possible tell-all book.
Royal commentator Richard Palmer addressed the rumours in a report for the i Paper, pushing back against claims that Sarah is considering six-figure offers to write a memoir revealing royal secrets. Citing a source close to her, Palmer dismissed the idea outright.
“She would never do anything like that,” the source said, adding that Sarah has never written, or threatened to write, a tell-all book.
The claims follow earlier comments by royal expert Mark Dolan, who told Sky News that Sarah may be tempted by a lucrative deal, suggesting she needs the money and could consider a million-dollar agreement to speak out.
Dolan also warned that any such move could be problematic for King Charles, arguing that renewed controversy would risk casting a shadow over his reign.
Palmer, however, said that even if Sarah were to write a book, it would likely create further difficulties for their daughters, who have already found themselves in a difficult position following their parents’ very public fall from grace. He noted that King Charles has made a point of ensuring they remain valued members of the royal family, despite not carrying out official duties.
Recent reports have also claimed Sarah was weighing up paid interview offers after losing her Duchess of York title. One insider told The Sun there were concerns she could “go rogue” and say things that might embarrass King Charles, Queen Camilla or other senior royals.
For now, though, Palmer maintains that Sarah’s loyalty lies firmly with the King and the wider royal family.
