Buckingham Palace Views Harry as a Risk as Legal Battle Brings Him Back to the UK

Buckingham Palace’s concerns about Harry appear to run far deeper than fears of leaked conversations or behind the scenes revelations like those seen in Spare. According to royal commentators, the issue is no longer just awkward family dynamics but what the Firm sees as a serious liability.

The concerns were raised by Kinsey Schofield, host of the YouTube channel Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered, ahead of Harry’s expected return to the UK on 19 January. The Duke of Sussex is due to attend court hearings related to his privacy case against the publisher of the Daily Mail, alongside other high profile figures including Elton John, Elizabeth Hurley and Sadie Frost.

The case centres on alleged privacy violations dating back to the early 2000s. However, the publisher, Associated Newspapers, has strongly denied the claims, according to reporting by the BBC.

Against this backdrop, Schofield questioned whether Harry’s visit could include a private meeting with his father, King Charles, possibly at one of the King’s estates. Their last brief meeting took place at Clarence House during Harry’s short visit to the UK last year.

However, Schofield suggested such contact is unlikely, stressing that the King does not maintain regular communication with his younger son. She explained that the royal family reportedly views Harry as untrustworthy, fearing that private discussions could quickly surface in the media.

She added that the situation is made even more delicate by the King’s ongoing cancer treatment, which is being treated as a strictly private matter within the Palace. In her view, this sensitivity only reinforces why Buckingham Palace remains cautious about allowing close contact during Harry’s return.
