Former Duke of York reportedly claims the Princess of Wales helped turn the future king against him
Catherine has been accused of acting as a so called “silent assassin” at the heart of a deepening rift between William and his uncle, Prince Andrew.
According to a new report, the former Duke of York believes the Princess of Wales played a quiet but decisive role in his fall from royal life. Sources quoted by OK! Magazine claim Andrew is convinced Catherine has been subtly influencing Prince William, helping to push him towards cutting ties with his uncle.
One insider said Andrew has “become completely fixated” on Catherine since King Charles III stripped him of his remaining titles and honours and asked him to vacate Royal Lodge. “He keeps saying she’s a ‘silent assassin’ who’s been quietly pulling the strings and whipping William into a frenzy about him,” the source claimed.
The insider added that Andrew is convinced key decisions about his future were discussed with both Catherine and William. Rather than placing the blame on his nephew, however, he has directed his anger squarely at Catherine. “He’s absolutely certain she had a hand in everything, and instead of blaming William for forcing him out, he’s turned his wrath on her,” the source said.
There are also concerns that Andrew’s mindset could inflame tensions within the family. Another insider described his belief as “warped”, saying he thinks William is being controlled and that Catherine is “whispering in his ear” and turning him against his own relatives. “He’s saying she’s poisoned the well against him,” the source added.
This resentment is said to sting all the more because Andrew once believed he had a good relationship with Catherine. Before renewed scrutiny over his past links to Jeffrey Epstein, the source said Catherine was always polite and warm towards him. “He genuinely thought she liked him,” they claimed.
Now, with Catherine keeping her distance, Andrew reportedly sees it as a deliberate move to freeze him out and ensure he remains sidelined. “He’s lashing out and telling anyone who will listen that she’s the reason he’s been booted from his own family,” the insider said, adding that Andrew has even vowed to get back at her. According to the source, that reaction is unlikely to sit well with William when he learns of it.
