Meghan Markle is reportedly feeling increasingly anxious as she weighs a major personal decision. The Duchess of Sussex is said to be considering a possible return to the UK for the first time in four years, a move that is causing her significant stress.
According to Radar Online, Meghan is deeply unsettled by the idea of facing intense media scrutiny if she steps back onto British soil. She has not visited the UK since 2022, while Harry has returned several times on his own for court hearings and official duties.
Speculation has grown that Meghan could join him this summer for an event linked to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham. However, a source claims her concerns are not about security or royal protocol.
“Her biggest worry is not logistics or protocol. It is the sheer volume of press attention and negativity she expects,” the insider said. “She feels the UK media climate toward her has only hardened.”
A royal expert echoed those concerns, saying Meghan would approach any visit with considerable anxiety because her relationship with the royal family remains strained.
“From her point of view, the underlying tensions are still very much there, which makes the idea of coming back feel emotionally fraught rather than reassuring,” the expert said.
They also pointed to Meghan’s standing with the British public as another source of pressure. “Her approval numbers in the UK remain extremely low, with a clear majority still opposed to her. She is acutely aware that large sections of the British press remain openly hostile, and that level of animosity would inevitably make any return difficult and uncomfortable.”
For now, Meghan is said to be carefully weighing her options, knowing that any decision to return would place her back in the spotlight she has worked hard to avoid.
