Meghan Markle’s Netflix show labelled a disaster as expert rules out another season

Chef Jameson Stocks says viewers are losing interest and the series failed to deliver returns

Meghan Markle’s Netflix project With Love, Meghan will not return for another season, according to celebrity chef Jameson Stocks, who has branded the show a commercial and creative failure.

Speaking to Express, Stocks said the series failed to connect with audiences and delivered little value for Netflix. “The numbers speak for themselves,” he said. “It was a disaster not only for Meghan’s brand but also for Netflix. It proved to be a complete waste of money with no return on investment.”

He claimed the outcome was predictable, pointing to the decision to film multiple seasons back-to-back despite weak early performance. “The first season was already a complete flop,” he added, suggesting the show never built momentum with viewers.

Stocks also criticised the content itself, arguing that any initial attention came from Markle’s profile rather than the quality of the programme. “It had the potential to run for many seasons, but unfortunately it was unbelievably bad,” he said. “The hype existed because of who she is, not because of her abilities. What she was showing people was dull and uninspiring.”

He went on to suggest audience fatigue is setting in. According to Stocks, viewers are increasingly turned off by what he described as repetitive messaging and self-focus, making a renewal unlikely. He added that it was difficult to imagine Netflix deliberately backing a poorly received project, implying that creative responsibility rested largely with Markle.

Netflix has not commented on the claims, and no official decision on the future of With Love, Meghan has been announced.
