Meghan Markle has reportedly left Prince Harry feeling uneasy after sharing images linked to his time in Afghanistan on social media.
The Duchess of Sussex recently posted a photo of Harry seated in the front of a military helicopter, along with images from the Invictus Games, on her official Instagram account. The post appeared just hours after Harry publicly criticised Donald Trump over comments suggesting NATO troops “stayed a little off the frontlines” during the Afghanistan war.
According to a source who spoke to Radar Online, Harry believes the post turned his military service into something political.
“Harry feels Meghan is using his service record to signal to her left-leaning Hollywood crowd that she is taking on Trump,” the source claimed. “He thinks it turns something deeply personal into a political statement, and that makes him angry.”
Another insider said the timing made Harry even more uncomfortable because he is already facing attention in the United States over his visa application. Questions have been raised about his past drug use, which he openly discussed in his memoir Spare.
“From Harry’s perspective, baiting Trump in the middle of that probe feels dangerous,” the source said. “He worries it invites the wrong kind of attention.”
In Spare, the Duke of Sussex admitted to using drugs when he was younger, a confession that has led some critics to question whether his US visa application was properly reviewed.
“He thinks Meghan is underestimating how exposed he feels right now,” one source added.
As for Meghan, insiders suggest she sees her actions as supportive. “She believes she is standing up for him,” the source said. “But Harry views it as poking the bear. When it comes to Trump, he feels any provocation can spiral, especially when immigration officials are already looking at his file.”
