Prince Harry hit with fake 'dossier' claims after court appearance

Viral posts wrongly suggest Princess Anne backed secret files linked to his UK security case

False claims have spread online suggesting Princess Anne confirmed a secret “Saudi dossier” linked to Prince Harry and his UK security dispute. There is no evidence for this.

The rumours surfaced after Harry gave evidence at London’s High Court last week in his privacy case against the Daily Mail. He has since returned to the United States, where he has lived with his family since 2020. His visit triggered a flood of videos and posts on Facebook and YouTube misrepresenting a separate legal battle he lost last year over publicly funded police protection in Britain.

Those posts claim Princess Anne confirmed a foreign “dossier” tied to Harry’s security. Court reporting does not support that. Coverage focused on domestic policy and private hearings, not on any overseas files. No reputable outlet has reported that such a dossier exists.

Harry lost his challenge to the Home Office after a specialist committee decided in February 2020 that he would no longer receive automatic police protection once he stepped back from royal duties. London’s High Court ruled the decision lawful, and three appeal judges later upheld it, saying his frustration did not amount to an error of law.

After the defeat, Harry said he was “devastated” and told the BBC he would struggle to forgive the decision and could not safely bring his family to the UK.

Following that ruling, the Duke of Sussex also spoke publicly about wanting to reconcile with his father, King Charles. He later met the King during a UK visit after extending an olive branch in a BBC interview.

Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, moved to the United States after stepping down from royal duties. Despite the renewed online claims, there is still no proof that Princess Anne confirmed any secret dossier related to his security case.
