Prince Harry warned 2026 could be make or break for his royal future

Prince Harry warned 2026 could be make or break for his royal future

Security ruling and family ties may shape the Duke of Sussex’s next chapter

Harry has been given a clear warning as he heads into what could be a defining year. After a mixed 2025, the Duke of Sussex now faces a 2026 that may determine how closely he can reconnect with the UK and his family.

Last year brought some positives. Harry enjoyed a strong showing at the Invictus Games, returned to the UK in September, and spent time with his father, King Charles. But those moments were balanced by setbacks. He stepped down as patron of Sentebale and suffered a legal blow after losing his appeal over UK security arrangements.

According to royal commentators, the coming year could shift the balance. Speaking to the Mirror, royal expert Jennie Bond said Harry’s security review is still under consideration, with a decision expected early in 2026. If it goes his way, it could remove a major barrier to visiting Britain more often and possibly bringing his children with him.

Bond suggested that a positive outcome could also ease tensions with his father. She described the security issue as a long-standing complication in their relationship, adding that its resolution might allow things to improve gradually. A reconciliation with Prince William, however, would be far more difficult.

She also pointed out that public support for Harry remains strong when he focuses on charitable work. In her view, he appears far more at ease in that space than in areas like film production. Her advice was simple: play to his strengths, keep using his profile to spotlight causes he cares about, and continue lending his name and energy to the charities he wants to support.

Whether 2026 becomes a turning point now rests on a few key decisions and how Harry chooses to move forward.
