Renewed scrutiny around Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is once again causing serious unease within the royal family, with commentators suggesting the fallout is weighing heavily on both King Charles and Prince William.
Royal commentator Ian Pelham Turner told Fox News Digital that tensions have intensified following the release of new images linked to the Jeffrey Epstein files, made public by the US Department of Justice. According to Turner, the reaction inside the palaces has been one of fury and disbelief.
He went as far as likening the situation to a scene from the television series Hammer House of Horrors, saying the circulation of the images has pushed both the King and the Prince of Wales to breaking point. In his view, William is now focused on damage control and is determined to distance the monarchy from further embarrassment.
Similar concerns were raised by British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard, who said the heir to the throne is growing increasingly angry. She claimed William believes Andrew’s ongoing controversies are undoing years of positive work by the monarchy and leaving the institution exposed to a steady flow of damaging revelations.
Chard also suggested that this has created friction between father and son. While King Charles is said to have preferred keeping his brother close, William is reportedly prepared to take a firmer stance and prevent Andrew from moving anywhere near his own family, signalling a deeper divide over how the royal household should handle the situation.
