King Charles and Princess Anne host separate investiture ceremonies at Windsor Castle

King Charles III and his sister Princess Anne separately hosted investiture ceremonies at Windsor Castle this week, Buckingham Palace has confirmed.

In a statement released on Friday, the royal family said the ceremonies recognised individuals for their contributions across a range of fields. Among those honoured was Lydia Tischler MBE for services to Holocaust remembrance and child psychology. Olympic gymnast Rhys McClenaghan received an MBE for services to gymnastics, while Emma Bridgewater was appointed Dame Commander for her services to ceramics.

Actor and playwright Tracy-Ann Oberman was also recognised for her work in Holocaust education and efforts to combat antisemitism.

The Palace did not disclose the exact dates on which the ceremonies took place.

The update comes as the royal family continues to deal with the fallout from a recent police raid at one of the king’s private properties, where his brother Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested.

Following the incident, the king issued a statement expressing his concern and reaffirming that he and his family support the authorities in carrying out their duties. Andrew was later released after several hours of questioning but remains under investigation on suspicion of misconduct in public office, according to police.
