Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor reportedly unhappy with planned new home
King Charles III may have to rethink plans for his brother Andrew’s relocation to Sandringham after reports the property set aside for him is proving unsuitable.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is expected to move into Marsh Farm, a modest house on the Norfolk estate. However, several issues have emerged. A report by The Mirror says the building sits on low-lying, marshy ground and would need major security upgrades and repairs before it could be considered safe.
There are also claims of pest problems on the land, adding to doubts about whether the house is fit for purpose.
Andrew, who lost his royal titles and was asked to leave Royal Lodge following his links to Jeffrey Epstein, is said to be unhappy with the arrangement.
Kate Mansey of The Times reported that the scale of work required could leave the King with little choice but to change course.
“Despite extensive work beginning on Marsh Farm, however, it is understood that even this is now in doubt. A huge security overhaul is required to make it safe for Andrew,” she said.
Builders have reportedly been installing secure gates and alarm systems, but concerns remain about whether the house is suitable for such a high-profile resident. Pest control officers were also seen at the property amid reports of a mole problem.
All of this has raised the possibility that the King may have to abandon the plan and look for another property for his brother within the Sandringham estate.
