Friend says former Duchess is in a fragile state as Royal Lodge exit looms
Sarah Ferguson has issued a statement after reports claimed she is facing a “housing crisis” following plans to leave Royal Lodge.
A friend, speaking to The Times via the Daily Mail, said the former Duchess of York is in a “fragile” state and struggling with what they described as her fall from grace.
The same source claimed Sarah is clinging to the hope of finding a new home in Windsor after losing both her royal titles and the Royal Lodge, which was once the Queen Mother’s residence. The property was withdrawn from her and Andrew following controversy surrounding their long association with Jeffrey Epstein.
Amid growing speculation, a spokesperson released a brief statement on her behalf. Reacting to the reports, the spokesperson told People, “She is assessing a number of options currently, and no final decision has been made.”
A friend added that while relations between Sarah and her daughters have improved, there has been no offer of permanent accommodation.
“For now, Andrew and Sarah have a housing crisis,” the source said. “It may mean they have to lower their expectations about the sort of lifestyle they wish to lead.”
