Virginia Giuffre’s Family Speaks Out After Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s Arrest

Relatives say the moment sends a clear message about accountability

The family of Virginia Giuffre has responded publicly to the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, calling it a powerful moment after years of pain.

Britain’s former prince was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of misconduct in public office linked to his time as a trade envoy, as UK police investigations connected to the Jeffrey Epstein files continue to intensify.

Giuffre’s siblings issued a statement following the news, saying the arrest had brought a sense of relief. Speaking to CBS News, they said it showed that no one is above the law, including members of the Royal Family.

They also thanked Thames Valley Police for its investigation and the decision to arrest Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. In their words, their sister’s actions were ultimately about standing up for survivors everywhere.

Giuffre, an American and one of Epstein’s most outspoken accusers, died last year aged 41. She had accused Andrew of sexually assaulting her on three occasions when she was 17, allegations he has denied.

Police said the arrest of a royal figure is unprecedented in modern British history. Officers are also searching two additional properties, one in eastern England and another west of London, as part of the same inquiry.

For Andrew, who was stripped of his titles last year, the arrest marked another severe public blow. It also came on his 66th birthday, underlining the gravity of a day that has sent shockwaves through the monarchy.
