Beatrice and Eugenie ‘humiliated’ after reported Royal Ascot ban

Insiders claim the York sisters were shocked by the severity of the alleged decision

Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice are said to be deeply upset after reports claimed they will not be attending Royal Ascot this year.

According to recent reports, the sisters were told they would not be joining members of the Royal Family at the annual racing event, a move that has sparked fresh discussion about their position within the royal circle.

A report from Sky News suggested the decision was made on the orders of Prince William. The outlet claimed the future king had banned the sisters from a major royal event and advised other members of the Royal Family to avoid being seen publicly with them.

Sources quoted by New Idea have now shared how the York sisters allegedly reacted to the reported snub.

According to a royal insider, the pair felt “humiliated by the severity” of the decision.

The source claimed Beatrice took the news particularly hard. “Bea has taken it the hardest, but she was always the more naive one,” the insider said.

They added that Eugenie usually prepares herself for the worst but was still surprised by how strict the alleged move appeared to be. “Eugenie tends to consider worst-case scenarios, but even she thinks this is harsh,” the source said.

Reports also suggest that William and Catherine are keen to keep a certain distance from the sisters while the fallout linked to their parents continues to generate attention.

Another insider claimed the situation might have been handled differently if earlier suggestions had been accepted. According to the source, the sisters had previously been advised to allow a financial review to help clear their names.

“They should never have turned down William’s suggestion to audit their finances,” the insider claimed. “He could have helped them, but it’s too late now. He must protect the monarchy.”

The palace has not publicly commented on the reports, but the claims have added to ongoing speculation about the York sisters’ future role around the Royal Family.
