Princess Eugenie is reportedly facing pressure from her parents as she prepares to welcome her new baby and tries to keep the occasion private.
Sources claim Eugenie wants the birth to take place with as little attention as possible. She is said to be particularly concerned that the hospital could become the centre of a media frenzy if her parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, are present.
“Her number one priority is having this baby with the absolute minimum of fuss,” an insider told Heat World. “She doesn’t want the hospital turning into a circus, and she’s made that very clear.”
However, the source claimed that her parents have not responded well to the decision.
“Unfortunately, her parents are not taking it well, and she’s getting a ton of pushback from Andrew and Sarah,” the insider said.
Andrew is reportedly “fuming” and views the request as a personal insult. According to the source, he believes Eugenie should allow him to attend as a sign that she remains supportive of him.
The insider claimed he does not appear to recognise that his presence could overshadow the birth, which is exactly what Eugenie is trying to avoid.
Sarah has reportedly taken a gentler approach and is pleading with her daughter to reconsider because she wants to be there when her grandchild arrives. There is said to be some hope that she may be allowed to visit quietly, while Andrew has allegedly been told to stay away.
Eugenie’s husband, Jack Brooksbank, is reportedly encouraging her to stand by the decision, although the situation remains difficult because she does not want to upset her parents.
According to the source, Andrew has become increasingly sensitive to signs that his daughters may be distancing themselves from him. He has allegedly interpreted Eugenie’s birth plans as a test of her loyalty rather than a request for privacy.
Eugenie, however, reportedly believes he is missing the point entirely.
“For her, this isn’t about making some big public statement,” the insider explained. “It’s simply about having the birth she wants with as little fuss and distraction as possible.”
The source added that Eugenie has reassured her family that everyone will have an opportunity to meet the baby. For now, she and Jack reportedly want time to settle in privately without the birth becoming a public spectacle.
