A friend of Prince Harry has claimed that the Duke of Sussex is beginning to feel less welcome in the United States as he works to reconnect his children with their British family.
The comments emerged days after Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet reportedly visited King Charles at Highgrove House. The trip is said to have given the children their first meaningful opportunity to spend time with their grandfather in person.
According to the friend, Harry was determined to make the visit happen despite concerns surrounding his security arrangements in the UK.
“Harry was never going to let the kids down. They were so invested in the trip,” the source told the Daily Mail.
The friend claimed that Archie and Lilibet already had a relationship with Charles through regular video calls but were excited to finally see him in person.
“They FaceTime with Charles all the time, so they already have a relationship, but they were so excited to finally come,” the source said. “It was their first proper chance to meet.”
The trip was reportedly difficult to arrange because of Harry’s long-running dispute over security protection in Britain. However, the friend suggested that the visit also reflected a broader change in how the Duke feels about his life in California.
“There is definitely a feeling in his camp that he has started to feel a bit unwelcome in America,” the source claimed.
The friend described it as a significant shift, saying Harry may now believe that “the American dream might not be all that it was cracked up to be.”
According to the source, Meghan Markle also supports rebuilding the couple’s relationship with Harry’s home country and his English roots.
“I am told that this is coming from Meghan as well as from him,” the friend said. “I hear that Meghan is all for rekindling and reconnecting with Harry’s English side. She is fully behind it.”
The claims suggest that the Sussexes’ enthusiasm for their American life may be cooling as they explore closer ties with the UK. However, neither Harry nor Meghan has publicly confirmed the friend’s account.
