Monarch honours Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother and Queen Camilla’s late mother
King Charles marked Mother’s Day in the UK with a heartfelt tribute to three important women in his life, sharing a nostalgic message on social media.
The royal family’s official Instagram account posted a touching collection of photographs remembering his late mother, Queen Elizabeth, her own mother the Queen Mother, and Queen Camilla’s mother, Rosalind Shand.
The tribute featured three images celebrating the women. One photograph shows Queen Elizabeth walking alongside her mother, the Queen Mother, with the pair captured in a relaxed moment outdoors as their dresses moved with the wind.
Another image offers a glimpse of a younger Queen Elizabeth with her children during their early years, reflecting the personal side of her life as both a monarch and a mother.
The final photograph shows Queen Camilla with her mother, Rosalind Shand, highlighting the close bond they shared before her passing.
Alongside the images, the King shared a brief but meaningful message acknowledging both the celebration and the emotions that can come with the day.
“Wishing Mothers everywhere, and those who might be missing their Mums today, a restful Mothering Sunday,” the message read.
The tribute struck a sentimental tone, remembering the mothers and grandmothers who shaped the royal family while also recognising those who may be reflecting on loved ones they have lost.
