The rumours escalated after a photo of DiCaprio with climate activist Greta Thunberg began circulating online. Several posts falsely claimed she had accompanied him to the Oscars.
However, there is no evidence that Thunberg attended the event, and the claims linking her to DiCaprio as his date are unfounded.
The viral image also reignited long-running jokes about the actor’s dating history, with users making sarcastic remarks about their age difference. DiCaprio, who rose to global fame in the late 1990s, is nearly three decades older than Thunberg.
While the two are not romantically linked, they have crossed paths before. In 2019, they met through shared environmental work, with DiCaprio publicly praising Thunberg as a “leader of our time.”
