The Princess Royal meets children as historic site expands its educational space
Princess Anne paid a visit to Kensington Palace this week, taking part in a special engagement organised by a leading heritage charity.
The Princess Royal officially opened the Clore Learning Centre, a purpose-built space designed to support educational activities for young visitors. During her visit, she spent time with children from Ark Brunel Primary Academy, who were taking part in sessions at the new facility.
In a statement released on Friday, Historic Royal Palaces, the charity responsible for several major landmarks including Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace, the Tower of London and others, described the visit as a memorable occasion. The organisation said it was a pleasure to welcome the Princess Royal for the opening of the new centre, highlighting its role in enhancing learning experiences for children.
The rooms were filled with pupils eager to explore the space, with many getting the chance to meet Princess Anne during the day’s activities.
The charity also expressed its appreciation to the Clore Duffield Foundation and its supporters for funding the project. The foundation, established in 1964 by Sir Charles Clore and now led by his daughter Dame Vivien Duffield, has long supported cultural and educational initiatives.
Princess Anne, who lives at Gatcombe Park in Gloucestershire, has been based at the estate since the 1970s and continues to carry out a busy schedule of royal duties across the UK.
