New Claims Suggest Money Concerns Became a Major Breaking Point
Meghan Markle is once again facing speculation after fresh claims suggested financial concerns played a key role in her decision to step back from royal life with Harry.
According to a report from Radar Online, Meghan became frustrated after realising that Prince William would eventually have control over royal finances linked to the family.
An unnamed source claimed that once she understood William would decide how much support they received in the future, she wanted to leave. The claim was shared by editor-in-chief Dan Wakeford on Substack.
Harry and Meghan Markle publicly said in 2020 that they wanted financial independence when they announced their exit from senior royal duties. Since then, the couple have focused on building their own business ventures and media projects.
In his memoir Spare, Harry also recalled a conversation with King Charles III about Meghan before their marriage. He wrote that the King allegedly said there was not enough money to support another family member in addition to William and Catherine.
Despite the renewed claims, there has been no official confirmation that finances were the main reason behind Meghan Markle and Harry leaving royal life.
