King Charles and Queen Camilla mark 21 years of marriage

Anniversary arrives as royal family faces renewed scrutiny over Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor

King Charles and Queen Camilla quietly marked their wedding anniversary on April 9, celebrating 21 years of marriage while the royal family continues to face media attention surrounding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s past connections to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Unlike previous years, the royal family’s official social media accounts did not share photos or public messages to commemorate the occasion.

The King, then the Prince of Wales, married Camilla Parker Bowles on April 9, 2005. Their ceremony was deliberately low-key and took place in a civil service outside Windsor Castle, followed by a blessing at St George’s Chapel.

Their relationship dates back decades. Charles first met Camilla in 1970 after being introduced by a mutual friend. The pair began dating but separated when Charles left to serve in the Royal Navy.

In the years that followed, both went on to marry other partners. However, their relationship later resumed, ultimately leading to Charles divorcing Diana, Princess of Wales, and Camilla separating from her husband Andrew Parker Bowles.

The couple gradually became more public about their relationship in the late 1990s and made their first official appearance together in 1999. Their marriage in 2005 marked the beginning of a new chapter that has continued into Charles’s reign as monarch.
