King Charles Concerned About Harry and Meghan’s Overseas Visits

Palace insiders claim the trips risk sending a confusing message about royal duties

King Charles is reportedly uneasy about the overseas trips undertaken by Harry and Meghan Markle, with concerns growing inside palace circles about how the visits may be perceived.

According to reports, the monarch fears that the couple’s public appearances abroad could blur the line between official royal engagements and their independent activities since stepping back from royal duties.

Royal commentator Duncan Larcombe told Woman & Home that a senior Buckingham Palace source believes the couple are acting outside the framework that was established when they left royal life.

“Harry and Meghan are now operating beyond the rules that were agreed when they stepped away from royal duties under Queen Elizabeth,” the source claimed.

The insider also suggested that the couple are not formally accountable to the royal institution, allowing them to organise appearances and events on their own terms.

“They do what they want, when they want,” the source said, adding that traditional royal tours are typically centred on public service and representing the people.

In contrast, the source argued that the Sussexes’ engagements appear to focus more on building their personal profile and brand.

Harry and Meghan stepped back from their roles as senior members of the Royal Family in 2020 and later relocated to California. Since then, they have spoken openly about their experiences within the institution, including allegations of racism directed toward their son.

The couple now live in the United States with their children and continue to pursue media, charity and business ventures while occasionally travelling for public engagements.
