Meghan Markle Finds Unexpected Support After ‘Fake Eggs’ Claims Spark Online Debate

Social media users rush to defend the Duchess of Sussex as Easter video criticism takes an unusual turn

Meghan Markle has received a wave of support online after an unusual criticism about her Easter video quickly sparked debate on social media.

The Duchess of Sussex shared a short clip to mark Easter, showing her children enjoying a festive egg hunt while wearing bunny ears. In the video, the youngsters can be seen happily collecting eggs scattered around the garden.

However, the light-hearted moment soon became the subject of speculation after some viewers claimed the eggs looked “too clean” to be freshly laid. Critics accused Meghan Markle of staging the scene and even suggested the eggs might be artificial.

One user wrote on X that anyone who keeps chickens would know freshly laid eggs rarely appear spotless, questioning the authenticity of the moment. Others echoed the claim, arguing the eggs looked shiny or decorative rather than natural.

Some commenters insisted the eggs appeared “almost pearlised,” suggesting their appearance did not match what they believed real eggs should look like.

But the criticism quickly faced pushback from people who said they actually raise chickens themselves. Several users argued that clean eggs are not unusual and can happen frequently depending on the flock and conditions.

One chicken owner explained that most of the eggs from their own birds come out perfectly clean and do not even need washing, adding that smaller flocks and lower stress levels may play a role.

Another person also rejected the claims, saying their chickens usually lay clean eggs unless muddy weather leaves the birds with dirty feet.

A third commenter admitted they were not a supporter of Meghan Markle but still defended the situation, noting that eggs from their own chickens are often clean as well, though they can sometimes be messy.

The unexpected defence from chicken owners shifted the tone of the conversation, with many pointing out that the criticism may have been exaggerated in the first place.
